On Friday (9/2), SOCHIKU has announced the anime adaptation of Tsuihou sareta Cheat Fuyo Majutsushi wa Kimama na Second Life wo Ouka suru. Ore wa Buki dake ja Naku, Arayuru Mono ni “Kyouka Point” wo Fuyo Dekiru shi, Ore no Ishi de Itsudemo Kouka wo Kaijo Dekiru kedo, Nokotta Hitotachi Daijoubu? or Cheat Fuyo. A video teaser of the anime adaptation has been released on Sochiku YouTube channel.
A key visual has also been released on the anime’s official website and X (formerly, Twitter) account. P.A Works (Sakura Quest, Tari Tari)will produce the anime, while the production staff and the voice talents have not been announced yet.
Adapted from a novel by Asa Rokushima, the story follows Rein, an enchanter who is capable of strengthening equipment through magic. Despite lacking combat experience, Rein possesses the unique ability to grant enhancement points to virtually anything. Armed with this ability, he embarks on a new life as a free-spirited adventurer.
The original story began as a web novel written by Rokushima on the Shousetsuka ni Narou platform in January 2021. Later, the A manga adaptation, illustrated by Youmochi Gyoumu, started serialisation in Shounen Magazine R in October 2021, before moving to Kodansha’s Getsumaga Kichi web manga platform in March 2023, following the magazine’s discontinuation. Kodansha is scheduled to publish the 19th volume on 9 February. The manga series has reportedly sold over 1.3 million copies, including digital editions.
Kodansha also publishes a light novel version under its K Ranobe Book label, featuring illustrations by kisui. The first volume was released in January 2022, with the second volume following in October 2022.
