Indonesian game development studio Agate has announced their latest project, Akarmaut: Rootmare. The game is now available for wishlisting on Steam, though the release date has not yet been announced.

Akarmaut: Rootmare is a survival horror game inspired by the Resident Evil series. The trailer showcases a style reminiscent of modern Resident Evil games. However, Agate has added a unique twist by incorporating anime-inspired art, setting it apart from the realistic art style typical of recent Resident Evil titles.

The game centers around four college students trapped in a campus hospital overrun with unsettling zombie-like creatures. Players must guide the group as they attempt to escape while uncovering the hidden secrets and truths behind the events unfolding around them.

There are four characters in the game, each with complex relationships. The possibility of betrayal looms. Players must decide whether to trust their companions, suspect a traitor among them, or even choose to betray the group.

As with Resident Evil, players are encouraged to explore their surroundings and uncover hidden secrets. They will also need to face hordes of zombies standing in their way. Like other survival horror games, Akarmaut: Rootmare requires careful management of limited supplies and ammunition.

Founded in 2009, Agate is a game studio based in Bandung, West Java. In addition to the Akarmaut: Rootmare, Agate also developed some games like Code Atma, Valthirian Arc series, Esports King, and Memories: My Story, My Choice. Currently, Agate is also in the development of Tirta.
