On Saturday (14/9), Japanese pop culture event organizer Japan Culture Daisuki announced the phase 1 guest stars for the next Chibicon Surabaya event at Convention Hall Tunjungan Plaza, Surabaya, which will be held on 21-22 December 2024.
Among the guest stars are four Vtubers of SOL.4CE from AKA Virtual, Harris Caine, Gingitsune Gehenna, Souta, and Mikazuki Arion. Also listed as guest stars are World Cosplay Championships (WCS) 2024 winners MameMayo, and an international cosplayer from Thailand, Misaki Chan.
SOL.4CE is a VTuber sub-group from AKA Virtual that was revealed in November 2023. The sub-group consisted of Harris Caine, Souta Izumi, Mikazuki Arion, and Gingitsune Gehenna. Prior to the Chibicon Surabaya, Harris Caine and Mikazuki Arion were also the guest stars for the Chibicon Jakarta 2024 event, which was also guest-starred by LadyBeard.
In less than one year since it was revealed, SOL.4CE members have achieved various remarkable achievements. Harris Caine reached one million subscribers on 24 July 2024, the third Indonesian male VTuber who reached such a milestone after Nekomachi Akemi from AKA Virtual and Zerrilham from Project Yoru. Recently, SOL.4ACE also held their pop-up restaurant on 27-28 July 2024.
Mamemayo is a cosplayer from Japan who is part of the cosplayer duo MioMayo together with another Japanese cosplayer Mioshi. As MioMayo, she and Mioshi represented Japan at the World Cosplay Summit (WCS) 2018 and 2024. In addition to cosplay, she is also a contributor to Japanese cosplay magazines, an event planner, and a cosplay competition judge.
Misaki Chan is a Thai cosplayer with 358 thousand followers on Facebook, 229 thousand followers on Instagram, 138.5 thousand followers on X and 65.9 thousand followers on TikTok. This is not her first visit to Indonesia. previously, she was one of the guest stars for Hi Nippon 2 Fest Jakarta in 2016.
Japan Culture Daisuki is a Japanese pop culture event organizer based in Malang, East Java. Established in 2012, Japan Culture Daisuki has been organizing some well-known Japanese pop culture events in various cities in East Java and Bali, including 2014 Daisuki Japan! Wonderpop Matsuri event which guest-starred by Japanese anisong singer Mika Kobayashi.
