After collaborating with YLAB academy to create the first webtoon academy in Indonesia, Kisai Entertainment has successfully held a webtoon exhibition event titled Kisai Expo. Dubbed “The first webtoon convention in Indonesia”, this event was held on 13 October 2024 at the Jakarta Convention Center.
At the door of the bootcamp classroom, Kisai Entertainment opened a webtoon exhibition area. It was decorated with various webtoon-themed backdrops and character standees that featured some works from Kisai Entertainment.
An infographic in the convention also shows more information about Kisai Entertainment. Additionally, the infographic is also filled with interesting details about both Indonesian and international webtoon Industry.
There are many interesting activities for visitors in the exhibition, such as a portfolio review for visitors who want to get their work assessed by experts from the webtoon industry, and a Clip Studio Paint booth that offers a trial experience using a Huion drawing tablet. Online journalism platform JURNO is also present at Kisai Expo with a spin wheel gacha booth. Many visitors try their luck at this booth to get exclusive JURNO merchandise. Visitors can also take a photo at the Stulokal photo booth, which offers exclusive photo frames that are only available at this event.
As a part of the event, Kisai Entertainment also held a training bootcamp event titled Kisai Expo x W-TOON Camp Jakarta. The bootcamp offers a single-day full training experience with many webtoon industry experts both from Indonesian and overseas. According to Kisai Entertainment, this bootcamp is the biggest webtoon bootcamp event that was ever held in Indonesia.
The bootcamp participants can pick one of the two categories based on the genre: the romance class and the action class. After picking the genre, the participants can choose to attend either Basic, Advance, and VIP Class based on their levels.
YLAB Academy is also presented at the event for a webtoon creation session. In the session, YLAB Academy demonstrated how a webtoon is being made from the beginning. The session then continued with a drawing session with KOMIKIN, followed by a talk show with Fuyuki23 and DemonicBlackCat. Kisai Expo also held a character design drawing competition for 12 to 15-year-old participants.
