Indonesian animation studio Studio Ubud has signed long-term production agreements with four Japanese anime studios. They are ENGI, A-1 Pictures, Nippon Animation, and Asahi Production.
The agreements were formalised throughout May 2025 by Studio Ubud CEO Lindra Hismanto and representatives from each Japanese studio. The newly signed agreements cover the production of both television series and feature-length anime films.
“We are grateful for the trust placed in us by our Japanese partners. These agreements reflect our shared commitment to high production standards and long-term collaboration,” said Lindra Hismanto in a press release.
Studio Ubud is an animation studio founded in 2016 under the legal name PT Kreasi Studio Ubud. The studio is based in Jakarta and Sukoharjo, Central Java, and currently employs over 100 animators.
In anime production, Studio Ubud has been credited in various projects, including Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War (photography cooperation/assistance), DAN DA DAN (in-between animation), A Sign of Affection (finish animation, in-between animation, photography cooperation), and Dead Dead Demon’s Dededede Destruction (2nd key animation, finish animation, and in-between animation).
The “PT” in the company name refers to “Perseroan Terbatas”, an Indonesian legal entity type similar to a limited liability company (LLC) in the United States.
