Netflix has officially announced the anime film Cosmic Princess Kaguya!, which is scheduled to premiere on 22 January 2026. Yuko Natsuyoshi will voice Kaguya, with Anna Nagase cast as Iroha and Saori Hayami as Yachiyo.
Cosmic Princess Kaguya! is set in a virtual world known as Tsukuyomi. The film presents a modern reinterpretation of the classic Japanese folktale of Princess Kaguya.
Several well-known Vocaloid producers are also involved in creating the film’s music. Among them are Ryo (supercell), kz (livetune), 40mP, HoneyWorks, Aqu3ra, and yuigot.
The film is directed by Shingo Yamashita, an animator recognised for his work on Jujutsu Kaisen, Chainsaw Man, and Pokémon: Twilight Wings. Studio Chromato and Studio Colorido handle animation production.
