On Thursday (12/2), Asia’s largest Japanese pop culture event, Anime Festival Asia (AFA), announced the dates and venue for AFA ID 2026 via its official social media accounts. The event is set to return to the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD in Tangerang.
AFA ID was previously held at ICE BSD in 2018 under the name C3 AFA Jakarta 2018. At the time, SOZO had announced that event as the final AFA event in Indonesia. Although another edition was planned for 2020, it was later cancelled due to the pandemic. The event eventually returned in 2024.
Unlike previous editions, which usually ran for three days, AFA ID 2026 will be held over two days only, taking place on 15–16 August 2026, just ahead of Indonesia’s Independence Day on 17 August. More details about the event rundown and guest stars have not been announced yet.
Anime Festival Asia Indonesia is one of Indonesia’s major Japanese pop culture events. Organised by SOZO, the event has been guest-starred by numerous Japanese music artists like May’n, BABYMETAL, FLOW, and many more. AFAID has also invited voice actors/actresses, virtual talents, anime production staff, cosplayers, and many anime industry insiders to their event.
