Japanese Musician and Actor Yosuke Kishi was the surprise “guest star” of Hobbystation Fest on 18 April 2026. He’s the actor who portrays Stinger/Sasori Orange in Uchu Sentai Kyuranger. His visit is certainly a surprise, because he came to the event without any announcement.
At the time Hobbystation Fest was held, Yosuke was on a trip to Jakarta, and decided to attend the event. When he arrived at the venue, the majority of the attendees were tokusatsu fans, and they welcomed him right away. During his visit, the KAORI Nusantara team had the chance to have a casual interview with him. Here’s the interview.
Yosuke-san, what was your initial reaction upon being chosen to play Stinger in the Kyuranger series? Do you feel a deep affinity for this character?
One of my dreams is to become a Kyuuranger. I’ve always wanted to be a superhero, and it comes with a lot of responsibility. I feel accountable to the audience, so I have to be good and strong because young children will think, “I have to be a superstar like him.” I must therefore be firm in that obligation.
I believe Yosuke-san has received numerous invitations to appear on Indonesian TV shows. Which Indonesian television program do you think is the most memorable?
I appeared on Irfan Hakim’s MNC TV show about dangdut, but I couldn’t understand everything because I don’t speak Indonesian and don’t know dangdut. I was therefore quite anxious.
Will you, however, give dangdut music a listen later?
Yes, after seeing the performance, I gave it a listen. Dangdut music is very challenging, so I started practising right away.
Which dangdut song did you listen to for the first time?
Sambalado.
Oh, it is among the most well-known songs in Indonesia. The final question! What tips would you give Indonesian fans who wish to visit Japan? In Japan, what should they do first? What should they go to first?
Places to play, locations, or tourism?
Tourism.
Akihabara is okay if they enjoy anime. However, it’s preferable to travel to Tokyo if they dislike anime. The 634-meter Skytree is one of them.
Does the public have access to that location?
Yes, I have seen everything Tokyo has to offer.
Tokyo, however, seems too expensive. Do you know of any less expensive locations?
In Japan, I occasionally get free rides, saving me money. Tokyo’s Sangenjaya is where I currently reside. There are many inexpensive stores in Sangenjaya, including food and beverage establishments. There, beer costs about IDR 20 thousand, whereas in Tokyo, it typically costs IDR 80 thousand.
