Indonesian indie game studio Ariverse Studio has officially launched the Steam page for its upcoming horror game, Nightwatch at The Museum. While the release date has not yet been announced, interested players can wishlist the game on Steam.

Set in Indonesia in the aftermath of the 1990s Asian financial crisis, Nightwatch at the Museum is a first-person psychological horror game that places players in the role of Raja, a newly hired night guard. Desperate for stable employment, Raja accepts a position at a museum housed within a former Dutch colonial residence once owned by a Javanese noble family.

At first, the job appears straightforward: patrol the building, write reports, and return for the next shift. However, strange occurrences begin to emerge as Raja spends more nights inside the museum. Unexplained scorch marks appear throughout the building, official records no longer match reality, and the museum’s history becomes increasingly difficult to believe.

According to the developers, the game draws inspiration from Javanese folklore and Indonesia’s colonial history, combining slow-burn psychological horror with a strong local atmosphere. The story will feature multiple endings influenced by the player’s decisions, with choices affecting Raja’s job, conscience, and ultimate fate.

Founded in 2023, Ariverse Studio is based in Malang, East Java. While the team has previously developed games for clients and external partners, Nightwatch at The Museum will be the studio’s first original commercial intellectual property.
