Is a Player a Terrible Person?

If it is said that players are terrible people, then I will boldly assert that they are not bad people who should be avoided at all costs. They are only human who thirst for love and want to get some affection. Setting aside their desire, they generally excels in matters of romance.

There is nothing wrong to befriend a player if your romantic skills are not quite great. Perhaps you can be a “friend with benefits” with them, and learn some things to play in a romance.

For those who do not have any experience in romance, in my opinion, it is okay to befriend players. They provide fun experience, especially if they consider you a good partner. It’s not impossible that they might take you to a date and spoil you while delivering an unforgettable dating experience. Moreover, if you succeed in creating an intimate and comfortable relation, giving additional services such as kissing or even “naughty things” won’t be a problem for the player.

Bear in mind, though, to never let your feelings consumed in their game. If you are interested in having a relationship with a player (or even thinking of changing them), you should throw away that thought as what there is nothing to be gained from it but a broken heart. As it has been explained previously, it is not a relationship that the player seek, but the feeling to be loved.

The Truth of A Player’s Life

For conclusion, Scum’s Wish driven me to screams not because of the complicated relationship, but how the anime depicts the reality of a player’s life. They are people who thirst and are addicted to love, who understand how to play with romance, and to receive the love they badly wanted. The phrase ”Once an addict is always an addict” sums what the players are, and in the anime Scum’s Wish, Akane-sensei is a model of a player itself.

I have some friends who are players, which makes me able to see how they play and have relationships so easily with many people at the same time. It’s not rare for me to see a bunch of people who felt broken hearted when they fail to get my friends to be their partner. I’ve also played with the feelings of some women at the same time and feel a similar satisfaction to Akane-sensei.

Though players are excellent in playing with romance, they are still human who have their weak and fragile side. If Akane-sensei shows how a player is, then Hanabi shows the weakness of players, which sometimes makes us feel sympathy to them.

In the end, these all are my personal opinion as someone who is used to the games of players, and this is the reality of what I see everyday. For those who still have a “taboo” when it comes to the game of romance, I suggest to learn about it from trusted people. Learn how to be a person who can play fair and create a fun game, not a player who dominates the whole game. For players, there is nothing wrong if you want to stay that way, as the feeling of being loved by many is a an addictive pleasure .

Yet, for those who want to engage in real love, you should learn how to stop playing with love, because the longer you become a player, the harder it is for you to stop. But, if you still want to be one, understand what it entails, then enjoy the thrill.
