Previously, it was announced that the Indonesian book publisher Phoenix Gramedia would hold a meet and greet session with “Alya” from Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian. However at that time, it’s still unclear who is this “Alya” who will be presented at the meet and greet. Some fans speculated that it would be the author, SUNSUNSUN, while others speculated that it would be Alya’s voice actress, Sumera Uesaka.
Phoenix Gramedia has officially confirmed that the upcoming Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian meet and greet will feature the light novel’s author SUNSUNSUN. The event will take place during Comic Frontier 21 at ICE BSD on 16 November 2025.
The announcement was made via Phoenix Gramedia’s official Twitter account on Thursday (24/10), where the publisher also revealed that ticket sales for the event have now opened. Fans can purchase tickets through the company’s official website at phoenixanimestore.com. Early Bird tickets are available until 28 October 2025.
illustrated by Momoco, the original novel of Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian tells the story of a Russian student, Alya, who studies in a Japanese high school. Alya often complains to her classmate Masachiko Kuze, but occasionally also makes flirtatious remarks in her native Russian language. However, she does not realise that Masachika understands Russian.
The novel was originally published on the novel publishing website Shousetsuka ni Narou in 2020. It was then acquired by Kadokawa, which has published the novel since February 2021 under their Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko imprint. The novel is currently published in Indonesia by Phoenix Gramedia.
