Japanese voice actor Takuya Sato has reportedly stepped down from his roles in Arknights and Love and Deepspace, according to official statements from both games’ social media accounts.
The news was first announced on 2 March 2026 through a post on X (formerly, Twitter) by the official Japanese account for Love and Deepspace (@LoveDeepspaceJP). On the post, the developer stated that Sato had formally stepped down from his involvement as a voice actor in the game.
A day later, the official Arknights account (@ArknightsStaff) announced that Sato had formally stepped down from his roles in Arknights.
Sato is known for his roles as Midnight and 12F in Arknights and Zayne in Love and Deepspace. Both games announced that the actor’s departure was due to reasons that could not be publicly disclosed.
In their statements, the developers behind Arknights and Love and Deepspace apologised to players for any concern caused by the announcement. They also confirmed that new voice actors will be selected to replace Sato for the Japanese versions of Midnight and Zayne in future updates.
Arknights is a strategy mobile game developed by Hypergryph and published globally by Yostar. Meanwhile, Love and Deepspace is a romance-themed interactive game developed by Papergames. Both titles are gacha games that maintain an active fanbase in Japanese pop culture fandom and still receive regular updates.
