Elex Media Komputindo has announced that they will publish Smoking Behind the Supermarket with You manga in Indonesia. The announcement was made through the editor account of Elex/Level Comics on social media (@comic_lxlc), with the tentative release date scheduled on 1 May 2026.
Written and illustrated by Jinushi, Smoking Behind the Supermarket with You follows the story of Sasaki, an overworked salaryman who finds comfort in the cheerful customer service of a friendly cashier at his local supermarket, Yamada. One evening, after working late and discovering that Yamada has already left for the day, Sasaki steps outside for a smoke. There, he encounters a mysterious woman named Tayama, who invites him to the smoking area behind the supermarket.
Smoking Behind the Supermarket with You originally began as a Twitter Comic first published in March 2022. The series later started its serialisation in Square Enix’s Monthly Big Gangan magazine in August 2022. The manga is also available digitally through Square Enix’s Manga UP! app and website.
The manga won the 2022 Next Manga Award in the Web Comic category. In July 2025, it was also announced that the manga would receive a television anime adaptation produced by Asahi Production, currently scheduled to premiere in July 2026.
Elex Media Komputindo is a comics publisher under the Kompas-Gramedia Group. The publisher releases licensed foreign comics, including manga, and also Indonesian comics. Since 2005, Elex Media has also published comics intended for adult audiences under the new imprint called Level Comics.
