Exploding Soes has officially announced the release date of their debut title, Repeat After Death. The action platformer is scheduled to launch on PC via Steam on 17 April 2026.
Repeat After Death is an action arcade platformer with roguelite elements. In this game, the player is not only tasked with defeating enemies and bosses but must also contend with echoes of their own past actions. The game records player movements from previous runs and reintroduces them as “ghosts” in subsequent attempts. This creates a cyclical purgatory-like experience, where every aggressive move made in one run becomes a new threat in the next.
Before each run, the player has to select at least two preferred characters before entering a dungeon. However, a mystical system will randomly determine which one is used during each run, forcing the player to adapt. The run spans three distinct biomes, each offering unique mechanics and environmental challenges.
On their run, the player can collect items and artefacts to aid survival. They will also need to interact with various characters to uncover the mystery behind their journey and seek a way to break the endless cycle.

The project originally began as a prototype titled Ghosting, created for the first Garena Game Jam in 2023. It impressed judges at the time, earning the team a second-place award in the Jam. Since then, the concept has evolved into a full-fledged title. The developers have undertaken major overhauls across visuals, gameplay systems, and progression design.
