Indonesian voice actor Salman Borneo, also known as Salman Pranata or Salman Setiono, known for his roles on Doraemon, Detective Conan, My Hero Academia, and Delicious in Dungeon, has passed away. This was confirmed by his fellow voice actor, Darmawan Susanto. He passed away on Wednesday, 15 April 2026, at 0221 Western Indonesian Time (GMT+7), and was laid to rest that afternoon in Subang, West Java.
Salman Borneo began his career as a voice actor with Sanggar Prathivi. Initially, he was the writer of several radio dramas, including the Sanggar Cerita children’s series. As private television stations began to emerge and foreign shows were increasingly dubbed into Indonesian, he expanded his career into film and television dubbing.
In addition to his success in radio dramas and western series, he was also the voice actor of numerous anime series in the 2000s. He played Sokka in Avatar: The Legend of Aang, Shigaraki in My Hero Academia, Giant in Doraemon, Takagi in Detective Conan, and Plankton in the SpongeBob SquarePants series.
