Synopsis
At Hyakkaō Private Academy, sons and daughters of the wealthiest of the wealthy engage in a unique curriculum geared to teach them how to read their opponents. Specifically, students have a rigorous curriculum of gambling, where the winners live like kings, and the losers are put through the wringer. When Yumeko Jabami enrolled, she decided to teach the students what a real high-roller looks like.

As written on the synopsis, the anime presents a very different storyline than usual, inciting curiosity of what will happen next. The stage is a school that imposes a caste system through gambling, whereas the of gambling itself is pretty much the opposite of the values of education. Also, the level of the gambling is not cheap, 1 chip in this school worths 1000 Yen.
In the first episode, the anime has shown such a drastic impact. One of the main characters, Ryouta Suzui, is shown like a pet at this school. He had been defeated by Mary Saotome after putting himself as the bet. The downbeat start suddenly gets more tense after a new student transferred to the school. Yumeko beat Mary in gambling, putting her on a debt of 8.8 million yen. Despite the enormous win, there’s still a sense of realism to it. Yumeko had lost 2 sets before finally turning the tables by discovering Mary’s cheating.
Studio Mappa studio seems to be putting serious effort in this project, to adapt the manga into an anime. The distinctive facial expressions of the manga has been kept in the anime. Those kind of expression will not make thos, which wouldn’t disappoint the manga’s readers who watch the anime. The story is also faithfully adapted, with no part is being skipped. In addition, the opening theme makes the anime more complete, featuring a song by Tia, “Deal with the devil” writen by ryo of supercell, which is very fitting with the anime’s genre.
