Synopsis
Kōdo Ikusei highschool is an elite highschool located in Tokyo and funded by the goverment with extraordinary facilities to educate newer generations for the future, with nearly 100% assurance for its alumni to go to university or find employment. They treat their students with freedom, making the school feels like a paradise. But only those who are superior will recieve favourable treatment.
Comments
The concept of the school that they deliver in this series is really interesting. Students each receive monthly allowence based on their grades, which is 100,000 yen per month (about $890 U.S. Dollars). But with that amount of money, the students became careless and waste them away. The school put students into the field where they can mess around all they want, and then creates a situation where there are too much freedom that they become careless.
Again, the money they recieves is based on their grades. The more grade they have, the more money will be given by the school. If they’re useless, they will be worthless (0 allowance). This put the students into a point where a certain norm is planted in their mind: “Be usefull or starve”.
Because they’re already used to freedom, the transision to apply discipline might be complicated and can create a bigger problem later on. It is interesting to see if there are any more policies apllied by the elite school to discipline their students.
