Stairway Games to Launch “Funguys Swarm” as an Early Access Game

Stairway Games‘ next project Funguys Swarm will be available as an Early Access on Steam on 21 August 2025 Pacific Daylight Time (GMT -7), or 22 August 2025 West Indonesian Time (GMT +7). The game is priced at IDR 44,999 (Around USD 3.07).

To celebrate the game’s release, Stairway Games has also confirmed a crossover with their previous game, Coral Island. In this crossover, Stairway Games offers exclusive rewards for those who purchase Funguys Swarm, including the Fungarian Outfit, Fungarian Chest and Crafting Recipe, and the Mythical Pet Outfit: Rusdy. All of them can be redeemed in Coral Island.

Funguys Swarm is a roguelite bullet game about protecting the forest from the fire king’s flaming minions. In this game, the player will control a fungus-like creature called Funguys to save forest creatures and create a sanctuary for them. A demo was previously released in May 2025.

As an early access game, the developer has planned to expand the game over time based on the players’ feedback. They also planned to release the game on the Epic Game Store, though the release date for this store has not been announced yet.

Stairway Games is an Indonesian video game studio founded in Yogyakarta and currently based in Bali, Indonesia. They are known as the developers of the farming simulator game Coral Island, which was released on 14 November 2023.
