The project, announced as part of the 40th anniversary celebration of the final episode of Creamy Mami, is the studio’s first entry in Pierrot Magical Girl Series since Fancy Lala, which aired in 1998.

In the anime’s latest trailer, it was revealed that Magical Sisters Lulutto Lily is scheduled to premiere on 5 April 2026. It has also been confirmed that the series will run for two courses.

At the same time, Rui also obtains similar powers, transforming both into the idealised adult versions of themselves. However, their newfound abilities come with a catch: the magic can only last for one year, and no one must ever discover their secret. Unaware that they share the same fate, the sisters each pursue their dreams of becoming idols, setting the stage for a heartwarming and bittersweet story of sisterhood, identity, and transformation.
