Another thing that he didn’t know is that he has an ‘Eternal Youth’ trait. 20 years is just a blink of an eye for him. However, this will be the opening chapter of his tale in this world. Watching The Water Magician anime for the first time, for some reason, made me feel like watching the early episode of Mushoku Tensei meets I’ve Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years and Maxed Out My Level 2. Mushoku Tensei really hit the feeling of how a fantastical story can be told in a book-ish visual, while I’ve been Killing Slimes feeling comes from the idea of a forever young protagonist. But weirdly enough, the anime managed to balance the expectation to be “just an okay anime”. It doesn’t have a great visual like Mushoku Tensei nor a good premise. However, it’s good enough for you to kinda get the gist of the world-building in this first episode. At least for me, it’s good enough for me to want to see the next episode, but not sure if I will be watching till the end. At least with the story and relaxed nature of the story for the first episode, I think watching a batch might be more ideal. Cause to be frank, it’s just too quiet and subtle…
