Indonesian creator market event Comic Frontier (Comifuro) returned once again last May. The 20th event, titled Comifuro XX, was held from 24 to 25 May 2025 at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD City, South Tangerang. Utilising Halls 6 to 10 of ICE BSD, the event was attended by 1,388 circles from both Indonesia and overseas.
The enthusiasm of the pop culture fans remained high. Some of them even came to the venue as early as 0330 Western Indonesian Times. As with previous editions, many visitors chose to attend on the first day to get their hands on limited fan merchandise before it sold out. Fortunately, the Comifuro staff managed the flow of ticket exchanges efficiently. They ensured the visitors were not stuck in long queues during the ticketing process.
Visitors who had exchanged their tickets then lined up in front of Hall 10 at ICE BSD. Unlike previous events, the hallway in front of Hall 10 is now utilised as a waiting area for visitors who come early. It allowed visitors who had been queuing since dawn to wait inside the hallway without having to stand outside in the heat.
Comifuro XX also hosted the Bushiroad Expo. Original merchandise from a variety of Bushiroad series, including BanG Dream! and Cardfight!! Vanguard, is available for purchase. The corporate booth area was packed with visitors. They visited not only the Bushiroad booth but also the Toge Production booth, AKA Virtual booth, and Honda Motors Indonesia booth.
With over 1,300 circles offering a variety of goods, the booth circle area at Comifuro XX was even more crowded. To improve navigation, floor signage was added throughout ICE BSD. It helped the visitors locate their desired booth.
Visitors also enjoyed main-stage performances by special guest stars, including the BanG Dream! voice actress duo Yuzuki Watase (Who voiced Mutsumi Wakaba and Mortis in Ave Mujica) and Yuka Nishio (Who voiced Nanami Hiromachi in Morfonica). The event also featured a special appearance by Takaaki Kidani, the CEO of Bushiroad. To show appreciation for Bushiroad’s visit, Indonesian Bushiroad fans sent flower arrangements to the venue.
Community booths were also presented at the event, with eight communities opening their booths. They are Hololive OCG Indonesia, Yuru Camp Indonesia, Kotak Kreatif, Gundam Builder Tangsel (GBTs), Idoly Pride Indonesia, BacaKomikLokal, DIGI-IN (Indonesian Digimon Community), and Conan Fansclub ID. Additionally, there were panel discussions and workshop sessions covering a variety of topics related to pop culture.
