Indonesian developer TBA Studio has unveiled TypeCaster, a fantasy action RPG that challenges players to cast spells through typing. The game’s demo is now available on Steam, with a full release scheduled for Q1 2026.

TypeCaster is a typing simulator that puts players in the role of a once-shameless thief cursed with a slow, agonising death. To lift the curse, they must ascend the Tower of Trials, a mysterious structure filled with monsters, traps, and ancient secrets.

In this game, every spell must be typed out using the keyboard, combining typing accuracy with fast-paced combat and strategic decision-making. Players will not only rely on reflexes but also on quick thinking and typing speed to survive. Along the way, they can uncover treasures, wield stolen artefacts, and confront powerful enemies guarding each floor of the tower.

TBA Studio is a video game studio based in Jakarta, Indonesia. Before TypeCaster, TBA studio has released I Am Trash Dev and Pipop’s Factory, with both games available on the studio’s itch.io.
