Following the debut of Team Passion, JKT48 has introduced another new unit. Premiered on 18 April 2026 via the group’s official YouTube channel, Wakaka People marks the official debut of JKT48 subgroup Team Dream.

The song is an Indonesian adaptation of Warota People, originally performed by NMB48, the Osaka-based sister group of AKB48. The original track was released as the group’s 17th single on 27 December 2017.

True to its title, the Wakaka People MV presents a colourful and highly stylised visual concept while delivering a sharp social commentary. Both its lyrics and imagery reflect modern online behaviour, including toxic comment culture, the spread of misinformation, and anonymous harassment.

In contrast to the typically sweet image associated with idol groups, Team Dream adopts a more expressive performance style. The members portray individuals who mock others for personal amusement, highlighting the darker side of online interactions.

The members featured in the MV include Adeline Wijaya, Chelsea Davina, Febriola Sinambela, Freya Jayawardana, Gabriela Abigail, Gita Sekar Andarini, Greesella Adhalia, Helisma Putri, Jesslyn Elly, Marsha Lenathea, Nina Tutachia, Oline Manuel, and Shabilqis Naila.

Meanwhile, Gendis Mayrannisa did not participate in the MV production as she is currently under activity suspension.

JKT48 is a sister group of the Japanese idol group AKB48. Formed in 2011, JKT48 is based at the FX Sudirman Theatre, South Jakarta. The group has previously released Indonesian versions of songs from 48 Family idol groups, as well as some original songs.
