Indonesian game developer Digital Happiness has released the demo of their latest project, a horror visual novel titled Jurnal Risa: Dark Destiny. The game is being developed in collaboration with Risa Saraswati, a novelist and the creator of the popular YouTube channel Jurnal Risa. The demo is now available to the public via Steam, while the release date of the full version has not been announced yet.
The game is based on Jurnal Risa, a well-known horror-themed YouTube channel in Indonesia. The channel explores haunted locations and retells ghost stories based on Risa Saraswati’s experience, while also telling Risa’s daily life. As of 1 September 2025, the channel has attracted over 7.15 million subscribers.
Jurnal Risa: Dark Destiny is Risa’s attempt to tell the ghost stories in a video game medium. The game offers players a paranormal mystery inspired by the adventures and encounters of the Jurnal Risa crew. The story follows the untold Jurnal Risa’s stories which have never been revealed before, blurring the line between the living and the unseen.

The game is developed by Digital Happiness, an Indonesian game developer based in Bandung, West Java. Established in 2013, the studio is well known as the developer of DreadOut, an indie horror game that was successfully developed through an international crowdfunding campaign, which successfully reached USD 29,067 in their Indiegogo campaign.
