CBI Pictures has premiered the Japanese psychological horror film Exit 8 in Indonesian cinemas on 10 September 2025. The film is available at CGV, Cinepolis, and FLIX cinemas.

Written and directed by Genki Kawamura, Exit 8 is based on the 2023 adventure game with the same name developed by Kotake Create. The story follows a man who finds himself trapped in a seemingly endless underground passage and must discover the elusive exit number 8 to escape.

The cast of the film includes:

  • Kazunari Ninomiya as The Lost Man
  • Yamato Kochi as The Walking Man
  • Naru Asanuma, Kotone Hanase, and Nana Komatsu as The Woman.

Exit 8 had its world premiere in the Midnight Screenings section of the 2025 Cannes Film Festival on 19 May 2025, before being released in Japan by Toho on 29 August 2025.

The original game revolves around the player walking through a Japanese metro station passageway, trying to spot inaccuracies to reach the exit of the station. The creator Kotake Create stated that the game took nine months to develop and was designed to be a short indie game developed on a low budget. However, the game became a commercial success, selling over 2 million copies as of August 2025.
