Previously, it was announced that Phoenix Gramedia would publish the Japanese light novel Who Killed the Brave? in Indonesia. On their social media, the publisher announced that the novel will be shipped to Indonesian bookstores in September 2025. The exact release date has not been announced yet.
Written by Daken and illustrated by Toi8, the story of Who Killed the Brave? begins after the hero finally defeats the demon lord in a battle. Mysteriously, the hero never returned after that. Four years after the demon lord’s defeat, the kingdom initiates a project to honour the hero’s legacy by documenting his achievements. To do this, three members of the hero’s party have been summoned so they can share their story about the hero’s life. One question remains: Why did the hero die? Was it the demon lord’s doing? Or was the truth hidden among the hero’s own companions?
Phoenix Gramedia is a publishing company formed through a joint venture between Kompas Gramedia and Kadokawa. The company focuses on distributing high-quality works in the anime, comics, and games (ACG) sector in Indonesia. Currently, the company has released various manga and light novels in Indonesia, including Bungo Stray Dogs: Beast and Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian.
